I have the power to change my life. I honestly think it’s easier said than done. You can’t just go out in a day and change your whole life, it’s a little more difficult than that. We’re teenagers going through SO much change right now. We’re all going through puberty and we’re figuring out who we are. Some of us, don’t like who we are becoming. But with determination and drive, I think you can change. Yes, it will take time, but it will eventually happen. I can change my life, but the question is, would I? I don’t really think I would, I mean everything happens for a reason. I have the power to change the world. Yes, I believe I do, but it’s a lot harder to change the world, than your life. You need to have, power, and you need to have the drive to do that. You need to love what you are doing, because if you don’t then it’s just not going to happen. You also need a lot of support. You can change the world, but I would say that the more people you have to help you, the more effective it will be, and the more fun it will be.

When I was new at NNCS I didn’t know anyone accept Laura and I was really shy. I came to NNCS when I was in 5th grade because my old school closed. Laura helped me get through the first couple of weeks of 5th grade. At lunch time on my first day Shae came up to me and asked if I wanted to be her friend. Shae and Laura helped me get through my first day.

If I could have one super power, I would choose the ability to read peoples mind. I would choose this because I think I would find it very handy. If I were to, for an example, ask a guy I like out, then I would have to ask him if I knew that he liked me from reading his mind. Also, that power would become VERY handy when you are having an interview for some sort of a business, and the person interviewing you is thinking about the answer he/she would like you to say. Or, another good reason was if you were having a verbal test, and the teacher was thinking about the answer. Another good example (and my last), would be to know what your parents got you for Christmas. Basically, its getting what you want and when you want it, with looking innocent in the process. And isn't that wondrous? To be able to read someones mind and get the information you seek? That's GREAT! :)

I don’t think gender matters. We had a male and female running for president and they both had an equal chance of winning. Power shouldn’t and doesn’t matter of you are a girl or boy. We have girl teachers and we have male teachers. Males and females have the same opportunity to succeed and the same opportunity to do what they want. It’s just the matter of if you do it or not. I know some people may disagree and that’s fine but in my opinion no gender does not matter.

If I could have at least one superpower in the world I would pick one where I can change peoples past and the way they are. If I could change the way people are I could change the people that are in prison to make them good again. For example if someone had caused an accident I would help them out of jail and change turn them back to there original self. I would also change a conman to do good again and respect him/her self. It would make them forget about stealing from people identity and money. That’s why if I could have one superhero power.

Well I’m going to tell you what I think. I think that it would be better with the laws because they keep our country running smoothly. Laws also keep us safe. Laws have a humongous impact on life as we know it. The law were we have to wear our seat belt and the one where kids have to be in a car seat till their seven years old they keep us safe in a car. Laws like no drinking and driving keep us safe when were walking. Also laws like you have to go to school make people get an education. All of the laws pretty much keep us safe. This is my opinion of how laws influence the society. What’s yours?

I think the most powerful word in the English language is I. I is the most powerful word because you see; I can write, or I can see that the answer is the dog. I is used in everyday writing, I have a game tonight. The simple things can be the most powerful. Also you can be very powerful. You will hear a lot of you in writing, reading, stories, and just talking. I will use you as an example. The most two powerful words can be used together in a sentence and you have the most powerful sentence. In conclusion I think that I and you are both equally powerful. That is just my opinion though. Someone else might think that the, is the most powerful word. But I and you say that you have the power to do this. Or I give myself the strength to get up and sing or act. that is why I think that I and you are the most powerful words in the English Language.

A leader who has made a great change in society is Martin Luther King Jr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was born on January 15,1929. By 1954 King was a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. In December 1955 he helped lead a bus boycott, which lasted 382 days. The boycott ended when the Supreme Court said that buses would know longer be segregated. Between 1957 and1968 King traveled over six million miles, spoke over 25 hundred times, wrote five books, and lead protests. During this time he gave his famous “I Have A Dream” speech. At age 35 he received the Nobel Peace Prize and gave the $54,123 prize to the furtherance of the civil rights movement. On April 4, 1986 King was assassinated. During his life Martin Luther King, Jr. helped give blacks many rights they would not have today with out him. That is what makes Martin Luther King, Jr. a leader who changed society.

What is the power of one vote? There is a lot of power behind one vote. If there was a tied election your vote may be the one to break the tie. One vote may matter more in a local election than in a state election because there are less people. In a state election there are more people and your vote might not matter as much.

One person that I feel is powerful in today’s society is Spiderman! Spiderman is the man. People, like me, count on him to be there when joker comes and tries to kill people. Spiderman has saved many people (including me) from super villains. ***NOTE J. LaBarge took a risk using humor to answer this question. She actually created a new discussion question here. If you want to respond to her post... Answer this question... What superhero do you think would be able to help our world the most and why?

Laws influence everything I do. For example, I don’t go around stealing people. I also have to go to school. I think our world would be a corrupt and horrible place to live without laws, because people could get robbed or even killed and a person could admit to doing it and still not get punished for their actions. Whoever came up with laws is a sheer genius!

Hurricane Katrina negatively affected the economy, although it may have helped it in a way. Hurricane Katrina cost a lot of money to repair. Our government paid a lot of money to rebuild houses, towns and buildings. Although it cost a lot of money for repayments’, it may have got some people thinking. Maybe next big Hurricane people will be prepared.

Enthusiasm is more important then experience . I say this because say a politican isn’t very experienced . If he is enthusiastic he can win an election . and in that process gain experience . and that’s why enthusiasm is more important than experience .

If I could be a super hero, my super power would be super speed. I could go everywhere, like to Chuck-E-Cheese and to the mall in Watertown . I have some shoes on my feet that are super power, so I can go a hundred miles per hour. It can make my life easier.

If I could pick a super-hero power I would pick super speed. I picked this one because it’s very useful. If your late for school and school start in like two minutes, you would have no problem. I also picked this one because when you go to far places it won’t take forever. For example I go to New York City a lot and if you had this power it won’t take long. It’s the fastest way to go instead of using a car and running into traffic. And that’s what super-hero power I would pick.

I think people have a lot of power. I think they have power because they can change things if they want to. For an example is the president because he can pass a law or he can veto a law witch means not allow it. I think I have some power because I can change some things in my house but I can not change anything in the world or even in the town

I think that knowledge is definitely power. Even if you don’t have an education you can still have knowledge in a special trait. You can still make as just as much money, if not more if you put your mind to it. On the other hand people that do have a degree on average do make more. Most powerful politicians and other important people usually have a degree. People can be knowledgeable in different ways. Overall though I would say that knowledge is definitely power.

I think everyone has the power to change anything. If I could change the world I’d make it so no one suffered. When I say that I mean no one would be hungry, but also people emotionally like feelings getting hurt. If I could change myself I’d have a higher pain tolerance. I admit I am a wimp when it comes to pain. We all have the power to change something. A lot of people though just don’t realize it.

Martin Luther King was a leader who made great change. He led thousands of black people against racism. He preached and gave thousands of blacks the hope of equality. He was shot and killed fighting for the rights of his fellow African Americans. It is because of him and many other black leaders that blacks have the rights they have today

DIV P { MARGIN: 0px } If I could be a super hero and have super powers I would want to be able to turn into anything I want. I would want to be able to turn into anything I want because if I wanted to spy on someone I could change into a mop or something! I could skip boring classes and turn into a fly and get out of that class. It would be awesome to get out of a boring study hall!! I could also get out of cleaning my bedroom if I turned into a maid, I could clean my room really fast!! It would also be really awesome if I could turn invisible. That would come in handy when you are getting into trouble or something, you could just turn invisible and walk away. Both of those powers would be really, really cool to have! Our life would be so much easier if we all had super powers!
